This desk is designed as a large cushion. While big it is a visually simple object,It is all one colour, a simple shape identifiable as a cushion. Due to thelarge width of the lobby I wanted to reduce the visual noise in the space butto still be identified as art in its own right. Thedesk has been fabricated by making a series of large hydroformed panels filledup with water to impress the cushion like ripples and folds. These panels wherethen cut apart and welded onto a steel frame with a plywood inset desk surface.
